FYI [Oct. 16th, 2008|03:33 pm]
Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
All of these comics can be found & read at my source gallery:

I recently discovered that apparently L.J. doesn't like to heal Back & Forward links between posts if a post in between was deleted. And over time I had deleted a few text-only, no-new-comic posts here or there. So if you started paging back (or forward) through the archives at the post display level, you'll soon hit a broken link, with no way to progress in that direction.
Comics can still be read off the main page and paged backwards in time that way, or found in the "journal archive" calendar view if you're interested in my Creator's Commentary and friends' comments. Else, just hit the gallery for the direct pictures. Enjoy! =)

[Edit: looks like L.J. finally fixed the issue.]

[CI-70] MAINSTREAM MUSIC '07 [Jan. 19th, 2007|01:33 am]
Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Feeling: |crazysnarky]

Pretty much my prediction for mainstream music this year. It's difficult to find music with the qualities that define "good music": singers with good voices, melody, harmony, rhythm, dynamics, actual talent. If anything worthwhile pops up on the radio lemme know; until then I'll stick with my CDs. When I do have the radio on it's set to like 88.9 Morgan State U's radio because they often play old jazz and swing. =)

So as Reel Big Fish says in their song "Turn The Radio Off":
"Blah blah blah another song about the radio / Always complaining that ya hate the radio / Well it's time to start the war now here we go / Our first mission: just don't listen.
Turn it off! (Off!) / Turn it off! (Off!) / Turn the radio off! (Turn it off!) / Try thinking for yourself for once in your life!"

Artist's Commentary: I tried to represent jagged rock with the staff in Panel1 and pop music (bubbles, popping) with the wavey staff in Panel2. I'm not too happy with Diavo in Panel1 but pleased with how he looks in Panel4, and I did not mean for the stereo to look like an NES...! I just wanted to stick with Maestro's color theme of red, and wanted a light colored stereo. The radio stations are Maryland/DC ones: DC 101 (decent rock), Hot 99.5 (pop), HFS (mostly alternative junk).
New logo for 2007 -- switched the colors, made 'em more clear.

[CI-69] SHE'S NO ELEANOR [Jan. 16th, 2007|10:11 pm]
Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Feeling: |flirtyflirty]

Well, you only get one chance to be appropriately juvenile; it's comic #69. ;P

Rachel is Diavo's apartment floor neighbor. She's really into cars, especially the classic ones. Will we be seeing more of her? Possibly, because I like her look, and envision her as a flirt.

[CI-68] COOL/NOT COOL 2 [Jan. 11th, 2007|09:14 pm]
Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Feeling: |amusedpunchy]

Another comparison of "cool" as defined from the Cool Intentions point of view -vs- pop culture. Maestro happily goes up against the stereotypical preppy aesthetic.
Remember, I'm stereotyping, so don't get too offended. ;P Then again, stereotypes exist for a reason...

Also, these new 2007 comics have been drawn not with the standard round brush but with an oval brush for more interesting line art. It's subtle but I like it. =)

[CI-67] COOL/NOT COOL 1 [Jan. 10th, 2007|01:08 am]
Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Feeling: |cynicalcynical]

A little idea I had to compare Cool Intentions' "cool" against what's popular. Hey, I don't discriminate, I'll bash everyone! ;P
So if you're offended by this comparison or any in the future, feel free to change your style to be cooler...! ;P ;P

As always, feel free to leave Comments. =)

[CI-66] YOU'RE REALLY A SPACEBALL [Dec. 26th, 2006|03:50 pm]
Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Feeling: |amusedamused]

Later that night, Val comes over too. She's got mad gaming skills, but that's just another reason Maestro keeps her around.
Quoting Spaceballs at 3am after drinking is quite a hilarious time... ;P We must've quoted our way through the movie twice!
True story.

[CI-65] BIZZARE BEAM [Dec. 18th, 2006|10:09 pm]
Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Tags|, , , ]
[Feeling: |hungryhungry]

Mack's special power explained! You've seen it before in CI-31. Strange, but interesting. Stevo himself requested the spaghetti bit. ;P
And so Mack levels up! The Background page has been edited appropriately.
Diavo's drinking Hypnotiq (yum!), and he's about to recline that recliner chair. Notice he's been using TK to levitate drinks a lot lately?
The flying playing cards don't have the shadow trail I've done before because they aren't flying at Slice -N- Dice speeds, he's just lobbing 'em around the room. "Partypartyparty." ;P
+I show some Marx Bros love -- classic, awesome. "Either he's dead or my watch has stopped!"

While experimenting with file formats I've discovered .PNG -- it's a smaller file size than Jpegs. =) If you can't see this image, your browser is far outdated, baby.

Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Feeling: |excitedexcited]

"Serenity Tales" -- the website listing every webcomic with Firefly & Serenity references -- has a link to the one I did last year: [CI-17] BELOVED FIREFLY! =)

Check out their listing for some Big Damn Fancomics. B-)

[CI-64] THE SHOCK AFTER [Dec. 12th, 2006|04:12 pm]
Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Feeling: |hyperhyper]

Here's a piece of complete non-fiction. We were telling jokes and interupting each other at every possible moment. Stevo starts to tell a story and takes a shot of Aftershock thinking he'll just shoot it and continue talking. Nope! Can't forget about it's after shock!

[CI-63] COOL YULE [Dec. 8th, 2006|09:00 pm]
Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Tags|, , ]
[Feeling: |thirstythirsty]

Good times. Maestro & his asians, Samantha Claus & a candy cane, Diavo & TK levitating martinis. =)
Like the reflection on the shiny table?

Now I'm off to hang out with the real Maestro & Mack! =)

COOL YULECollapse )
[Notes: Megan, after seeing this comic, had a dream that I wasn't coming over the next day (but of course I did), due to the "Do it again tomorrow?" line influencing her dreaming! Whoa.]
