Cool Intentions -- the webcomic
[Feeling: |crazysnarky]

Pretty much my prediction for mainstream music this year. It's difficult to find music with the qualities that define "good music": singers with good voices, melody, harmony, rhythm, dynamics, actual talent. If anything worthwhile pops up on the radio lemme know; until then I'll stick with my CDs. When I do have the radio on it's set to like 88.9 Morgan State U's radio because they often play old jazz and swing. =)

So as Reel Big Fish says in their song "Turn The Radio Off":
"Blah blah blah another song about the radio / Always complaining that ya hate the radio / Well it's time to start the war now here we go / Our first mission: just don't listen.
Turn it off! (Off!) / Turn it off! (Off!) / Turn the radio off! (Turn it off!) / Try thinking for yourself for once in your life!"

Artist's Commentary: I tried to represent jagged rock with the staff in Panel1 and pop music (bubbles, popping) with the wavey staff in Panel2. I'm not too happy with Diavo in Panel1 but pleased with how he looks in Panel4, and I did not mean for the stereo to look like an NES...! I just wanted to stick with Maestro's color theme of red, and wanted a light colored stereo. The radio stations are Maryland/DC ones: DC 101 (decent rock), Hot 99.5 (pop), HFS (mostly alternative junk).
New logo for 2007 -- switched the colors, made 'em more clear.

MAINSTREAM MUSIC '07 -- if you see this text & not the comic, try Refreshing, else Photobucket.com might be experiencing temp problems. Be patient, thanks! --DAV

The faces are looking a million times better but I think you need to work on body proportion.
Your Elbows should fall at or around the top of your hips - Spencer & Diavo look like they have super-extended torsos and arms.
In Panel 1 - Diavo's right arm is super small (were you aiming for perspective?) but in the 4th, his arms look about right - it's just that his torso is too long.
The one thing I have huge problems with you executed beautifully - the Hands in panel 2 & 3 look great!

I liked the comic a lot - hope you don't mind a little Constructive Criticism!

No, I appreciate feedback. =)

The long torsos I account for as having thought that what we see are untucked shirts, which would cover down to the butt. Maybe a full body view would reveal whether they are 8 or 18 heads high. ;P

The hands in Panels 2&3 were drawn separately (no copy & pasting), they're easy to draw! I find it hard to draw hands at the small scale, like in Panels 1&4, because I use fairly thick lines and the fingers are thin (as an attempt to compensate I use a 6px brush for hands while the arms/bodies are 8px). Except for Diavo's right hand in P1, I'm happy with the rest of 'em, they were drawn loosely and I'm happy I can do that now and get a decent result.
